Our story

Built on prayer.
Grown through
showing up.

LI-V did not start with a strategic plan or a big budget. It started with eight people around a table, a deep love for moms in crisis, and a conviction that the church was made to be the answer.

Where it began

Eight people.
One table.
One conviction.

LI-V, Life Initiatives and Values, began with a conversation between Suzanne Guy and Neil Brown, a dear friend and the care ministry reverend at First Baptist Church of Woodstock. That conversation grew into a question for the church's pastors: would they consider starting a distinct sanctity of human life group, one that held monthly meetings to inspire, educate, equip, and engage people inside the church and out, with a ministry built specifically for moms facing unplanned, unwanted, or crisis pregnancies, both inside our churches and in the community at large. The pastors said yes, and a small group gathered for the very first meeting soon after.

What started with 8 people has grown to monthly gatherings of 80 to 100 community members, church leaders, and pro-life advocates, all united around one simple belief: every life has dignity, every mom deserves real help, and compassion without action is just a feeling. From the very start, church leaders willing to be used by God helped move this vision off the ground, impacting lives inside the walls of the church and far beyond them.

Every LI-V gathering ends with real action steps: ways to pray, ways to give, ways to serve, and connections to other ministries already doing this work across Georgia. Suzanne believes there is a role for every soul to play in advancing the cause of life.

LI-V is now a registered nonprofit and a growing bridge between moms in crisis and the churches and communities ready to journey with them.

Mission, vision and values

Why we exist.
What we believe. How we show up.

Tangible love. Practical help. Enduring hope.

Our mission
To frame the life issue in prayer, service, and love.
Equipping churches and communities to be there for moms and families with compassion that actually shows up.
Our vision
A place where every mom in crisis is met by a church ready to love her, through whatever situation she finds herself.
By mobilizing churches to refer women to trusted and accredited pregnancy resources in their local communities, and amplifying love and respect for human life in every stage, across Georgia and one day our nation.
Our prayer
To be a presence inside and outside the church.
Living out the reality of the gospel and the Good Samaritan example, loving our neighbors as ourselves, and showing a hurting world that the church is the place to run to.
The meaning in the name

What LI-V stands for.

Every letter carries the weight of what this ministry believes and how it acts. These are not just words. They are a commitment.

L
Life
We believe every life has dignity and purpose, at every stage. Every heartbeat matters. Every person is worth showing up for. There are no exceptions.
I
Initiatives and Action
LI-V is not a talk-about-it ministry. We are a do-something ministry. Every gathering ends with tangible action steps. Every relationship is built on showing up. Love without action is just a feeling.
V
Values
We are rooted in the belief that human life, all of it, is sacred. And that the values of compassion, service, prayer, and love are not optional for the church. They are the whole point.
"If there is a heartbeat, there is hope."

The conviction at the center of everything LI-V does.

What we actually do

Learn. Act. Love.

At every LI-V gathering and through every interaction, these three words drive everything we do. We educate and mobilize our churches to stand with the women we serve, for as long as it takes.

Monthly gatherings with real action steps
Every second Tuesday, LI-V brings together churches, individuals, and community leaders for a time of prayer, worship, education, and tangible next steps. No one leaves without knowing exactly what to do.
Connecting moms to Georgia's resource network
LI-V has relationships with pregnancy centers, maternity homes, food pantries, counseling ministries, and community organizations across Georgia. We make warm introductions and stay present with them every step.
Education on the life issue, locally and nationally
From abortion to euthanasia to IVF, LI-V keeps the community informed on the issues that matter and equips them to engage with clarity, compassion, and conviction.
Long-haul friendship with moms
We meet moms for coffee. We invite them to outings. We commit to friendship for the long haul, not just a one-time referral. Because real love stays.
